Boulder web hosting
What's a web host?
One of the first steps to getting your web site live is finding a "web host." This means finding a computer that's always connected to the Internet and can show your site to people who want to see it.
Seems straightforward, right?
As with most things on the web, yes and no.
The race to the bottom.
The web is full of web hosting offers so cheap it makes one wonder why they bother charging at all (99¢ a year? Really?)
Most bottom-dollar mass hosts out there (you know who you are) basically capture your credit card information, give you a "control panel" of sorts, and throw you to the wolves.
Which is fine if you've got plenty of time to read up on BIND nameservers, FTP accounts, Apache, cPanel, .htaccess files, rsync backups, slave databases, email aliases... sleepy yet? Or did you want your life back maybe?
The alternative: us.
We host every site we work on so you don't have to worry about long lists of acronyms, or missing happy hour with your friends. Whatever needs to be done (need e-commerce integration? or a change to your existing web site?) gets done, and you usually don't even have to ask. "It just works."
We back up all sites nightly; we keep them version-controlled; we update software for you. We even keep copies of your site in different data centers across the continent in case of catastrophic failure in one location (think earthquake, hurricane).
Best of all, you don't have to do anything. We take care of the behind-the-scenes muck for you.
And you? Well, you're free to do what you do best - run your business. Or go to happy hour.
